Resource Maintenance

Overview

The Resource Maintenance page displays details of resources that have been created for use within your system. Resources are images that are used as digital signatures, logos or images for use when printing. Resources are restricted to images of the following types:

  • BMP
  • JPG/JPEG
  • PNG
  • TIF/TIFF

Depending on a users permissions it is possible to view, create, edit and delete resources within the application from this page.

Each row within the table represents a single resource and provides a summary that includes:

  • Display name
  • Resource type - Image, Logo, or Signature
  • Original file name - The name of the image file that was uploaded to the application
  • Added - Date and time the resource was added to the system
  • Last modified - Date and time the resource was last updated

Creating a Resource

Pre-requisites
  • Permission/Access to the physical image file to be uploaded as a resource
Steps
  1. Click on either the '+' button in the header row of the resources table or the 'New Resource' button underneath the table.
  2. A new window will appear containing a form of fields to fill in.
    Mandatory (required) fields have a red asterisk (*)  next to the field name. As a minimum you are required to enter:
    • Display Name - This is used as an identifier for the resource in other sections of the application.
    • Resource Type - This indicates to the system whether the resource is a logo, signature or image.
    • File - The path to the image file to be uploaded as a resource.
  3. Once finished click on the 'Create' button.
  4. If the resource creation is successful, the table of existing resources will update and now include the new resource.

Updating an Existing Resource

Please note: It is not possible to change a file once it has been uploaded.

Steps
  1. Locate the row that contains the resource that you wish to update in the table.
  2. At the end of the row containing the resource that you wish to update, click on the 'Edit' button (this has an icon of a pencil on).
  3. A new window will appear containing a form of fields which contain the current details for the resource.
  4. Update the resource details as required.
  5. Once finished click on the 'Save' button.
  6. If the resource update is successful, the table of existing resource will update and the updated resource details will be displayed.

Deleting a Resource

Steps
  1. Locate the row that contains the resource that you wish to delete in the table.
  2. At the end of the row containing the resource that you wish to delete, click on the 'Delete' button (this has an icon of a rubbish bin on).
  3. A prompt will be displayed asking you to confirm the deletion of the resource. Check the details displayed to confirm this is the correct resource.
  4. If you are sure that you want to delete the resource click the 'Delete' button.
  5. If the resource deletion is successful, the table of existing resources will update and no longer include the deleted resource.
