Branch Maintenance

Overview

The Branch Maintenance page displays details of bank branches that have been setup for use within your system. Branches are a typically associated with a bank account.

Depending on a users permissions it is possible to view, create, edit and delete bank branches within the application from this page.

Each row within the table represents a single bank branch and provides a summary for it that includes:

  • Branch name
  • Sort code
  • Branch address
  • Branch logo (resource) name
  • Number of bank accounts which are using the branch

Creating a Branch

Pre-requisites
Steps
  1. Click on either the '+' button in the header row of the branches table or the 'New Branch' button underneath the table.
  2. A new window will appear containing a form of fields to fill in.
    Mandatory (required) fields have a red asterisk (*)  next to the field name. As a minimum you are required to enter:
    • Branch Name - This is used as an identifier for the branch in other sections of the application.
    • Sort Code - The sort code for the bank branch.
    • Address - Select the address for the bank branch from the list of addresses available.
  3. Fill in the other fields as required:
    • Telephone Number
    • Email Address
    • Website URL
    • Logo - Select a logo resource to use for the branch logo from the list available
    • Transaction Code - Some banks require a transaction code, it is important to ensure you complete this if it is required. You can find the transaction code on the MICR line of your current Cheques; the transaction code will only ever be 2 digits and will usually appear to the right of the 8 digit account number.
    • Transit/Routing Code
    • Branch/Account ID
  4. Once finished click on the 'Create' button.
  5. If the branch creation is successful, the table of existing branches will update and now include the new branch.

Updating an Existing Branch

Steps
  1. Locate the row that contains the branch that you wish to update in the table.
  2. At the end of the row containing the branch that you wish to update, click on the 'Edit' button (this has an icon of a pencil on).
  3. A new window will appear containing a form of fields which contain the current details for the branch.
  4. Update the branch details as required.
  5. Once finished click on the 'Save' button.
  6. If the branch update is successful, the table of existing branches will update and the updated branch details will be displayed.

Deleting a Branch

Steps
  1. Locate the row that contains the branch that you wish to delete in the table.
  2. At the end of the row containing the branch that you wish to delete, click on the 'Delete' button (this has an icon of a rubbish bin on).
  3. A prompt will be displayed asking you to confirm the deletion of the branch. Check the details displayed to confirm this is the correct branch.
  4. If you are sure that you want to delete the branch click the 'Delete' button.
  5. If the branch deletion is successful, the table of existing branches will update and no longer include the deleted branch.
